Download: Graphic Organizers to Help Kids With Math (Understood.org)

Description:

Download: Graphic Organizers to Help Kids With Math - If your child has trouble with math because of dyscalculia or other learning and attention issues, graphic organizers can help. Graphic organizers allow kids to break down math problems into sequential steps. They’re great tools for figuring out what’s being asked in a word problem, which operation to use or how to organize answers. Kids can also use graphic organizers to learn and review new math concepts.

There are many different kinds of graphic organizers. The five downloadable ones here may be helpful for students in grade school, middle school and high school. You and your child can adjust them depending on your child’s needs and the subject matter.

Each graphic organizer comes with instructions and one or two samples of what it looks like when completed. You can print them out and have your child fill them in by hand. (If your child struggles with writing, you can write in the problem and let him do the rest.)
